Suez Canal University has a long history of cooperation with JICA. In this regards JICA Alumni organized a field visit to Suez Canal University at coastal city of Ismalia to inspect the activities of the Japan International Cooperation Agency with Suez Canal University.
Mr. Kazoe Mitsuhiko, Senior Representative of JICA Egypt Office, Eng. Mohamed Magdy, Alumni Chairman, and JICA members were received by Dr. Mohamed Mohamadeen,
Vice President of Suez Canal University for Post graduate Studies and Research Affairs. During the meeting, Mr. Kazoe shed light on JICA activities and projects in Egypt such as Opera House, Cairo University’s Specialized Pediatrics Hospital, and Egypt-Japan Friendship Bridge over the Suez Canal.
Dr. Ashraf Elabd, Chief Program Officer of JICA made a briefing of the cooperation between JICA and Suez Canal University, Such as Third Country Training Program which started from 1996 till 2008 as they carried out 13 training courses in field of medicine at the faculty of Medicine in addition to that dispatching Japanese volunteers in field of nursing and PC instruction. Alumni members were briefed by Suez Canal history. Suez Canal
University was established by Presidential Decree No. 93 of 1976, and received its first batch of students in the following year in 1977. Mr. Kazoe received the memorial plaque of the University
from Dr. Mohamedeen, after that the group made an inspection of Emergency Cases Hospital.
Dr. Abdel hameed Osman, Head of Histology Dep. accompany the delegation of JICA Alumni’s members in a tour in Ismalia. Alumni’s members were invited to lunch with Suez Canal University’s staff at 25th January village in Ismalia. 33 persons attended the field trip and they were very satisfied.
