JICA Alumni had the pleasure to have a courtesy meeting at JICA conference room to welcome Mr. Ikuro, the New Chief Representative of JICA Egypt Office. Eng. Mustafa Rushdie, Chairman of JICA Alumni introduced himself. He said that he is
working as a director of training department at Productivity and Vocational Training Department, Ministry of Industry. He added that he was lucky to have the opportunity to go to Japan twice through JICA trailing courses. Eng. Mustafa became JICA
Alumni chairman in the last election in August 2008. “On behalf of names of the JICA Alumni
board of director we have the pleasure to have Mr. Ikuro, Chief Representative of JICA Cairo office”
The Chairman said. After that he introduced the 8 board of directors to Mr. Ikuro and Mr. Sasaki,
JICA Representative. Mr. Ikuro said that he spent in Egypt until this meeting one month and half and he made some visits since he arrived in Egypt, such as E-JUST in Alexandria and Suez Canal university in Ismailia. Mr. Ikuro mentioned that he worked in JICA Pakistan Office as a Chief Representative and worked in Kenya for 3 years. Mr. Ikuro said that he was glad to have such as
meeting with Alumni board of directors to know more about JICA Alumni activities in Egypt and it’s a good chance to discuss the ways of cooperation between JICA and the JICA Alumni.
Mr. Sasaki expressed his appreciation to the board of directors for their remarkable efforts during last year 2008. Added that he felt a notice change last year because the increasing the numbers of the
seminars which organized by JICA Alumni. During the meeting seven board of directors introduced themselves to Mr. Ikuro.

Mr. Ikuro with Alumni’s activities in 2008, she said that it was busy year for Alumni and she hopes to have more activities in 2009.
Eng. Mostafa made a presentation of Alumni’s activity plan in 2009. He said it’s very important to
have a website and data base program in order to organize members’ contacts in order to be able to
reach them easily.

– JICA Alumni Association in Lebanon (Leba-JICA) sent an invitation to the JICA alumni association in Egypt to attend its annual workshop to strengthen the relationship with Embassy of Japan in Lebanon and to empower the friendship and cooperation with other JICA alumni associations in the region.
– The workshop was held Under the title of “Exchange of experience gained from projects financed by JICA and implemented by its graduates” and organized by LEBA-JICA and in collaboration with the JICA, and the Embassy of Japan in Lebanon.
– JICA Alumni Egypt nominated one of its member’sEngineer / Alaa El Din Mustafa Youssef, “Head of the Central Engineering and Production Department at the Egyptian Opera House” to present Egypt at the workshop.
